WHO WE ARE
Our History

MWTGA was registered on 8th February 2007 under Registrar of Society Malaysia (ROS) with the registration number (PPM-006-12-09022007). MWTGA was started with the objective of the “No Room Share” Campaign by Erina Loo, the pioneer of the association.

On January 2010. MWTGA is the first Association in Malaysia that joined World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) which is an Affiliated Member of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) and is an NGO in Operational Relations with UNESCO.

WHAT WE DO
Our Programmes and Activities

At MWTGA we actively do the following:

  • Conducting the tourist guide courses such us CTRE and Confirmation course, providing services of tourist guide license renewal and language addition, for members and non-members.
  • Cooperate with local tourism authorities to promote tourism as a driver of economic growth, inclusive development and environmental sustainability and offers leadership and support to the sector in advancing knowledge in tourism industry.
  • Generates market knowledge, promotes competitive, fosters tourism education and training, and works such as CTRE, Confirmation Course etc. to make tourism an effective tool for development through effective training, continuing education and workshops. Therefore, Tourist Guides may better understanding of trends and challenges in local, national and
    regional tourism.
